XR 650L "Dave's Mod, jetting" 9-10L/100km mostly off-road riding, one tooth down on front sproket (highly recommended) My car does better. Not the XR's strong point. Both powerplants are stump pullers (just the R is supersized) so that's the price you pay. If your a supersized guy or hp junkie and don't like doing maintenance there's only one choice: get yourself an XR.

This is a bit re-assuring. I've been thinking there's something wrong with my 650L. I have the 14 or 15litre clark and still only get 160km out of it. That's pretty close to what you guys are saying with yours.

I used to get nearly twice that with my DRZ and a large tank. Oh well. Anyone know of a larger aftermarket for the 650L?

I have the 4 gallon(18-19L?) IMS tank and am very happy with it. Can get 200 - 220 km's before reserve on my desmogged and jetted 650L. Have seen a bigger tank that has big scoops on it that hold fuel, not sure what brand but it's very ugly( I know looks aren't everything, but they count for me!)

MIRR (Motocycle In-Ride Refueling)

Honda has announced a new Refueling arm that will mount to any existing model. Similar to those used by the air force, you just pull up next to a pick up truck, insert your re-fueling rod and re-fuel.

Optional adaptor for connecting to a KLR is extra.
