temps in baja in early feb will be cool in the morning-10-12 degrees in the high spots like catavina and up to 28 ish in the middle of the day. take a fleece top,zip off pants,shorts,tshirt,sandals and a riding jacket with zipoff sleeves if you have one. no biggie if you don't,a shell/windbreaker will do the job. no long johns needed in all the years i've been down there. regular riding gear will work just fine,but here is cactusreid's riding tip for baja- under armour or other slip/slider undershorts!!! your hinney will thank me a few days into the ride! don't buy the old school 10 speed/chamois shorts as the dime size patch of chamois does not work with a dirtbike seat! New wheel bearings,steel sprockets and new chain,change your oil before you go, desert tires,ultra heavy duty tubes,with slime (tom will chime in now and argue this point but it has worked for us for years) about 22-25 psi in both ends and you should have a reasonably uneventful maintenance wise trip. oh yah, super clean and over oil your air filter,grease the rim twice,and i always put 2 dry filter skins on top before i install the filter. check daily or so,peel back just enough of the filter skin to expose some clean area underneath. stay back and out of the dust from the guys ahead of you!! you've got the tracks on your gps and the views are much better when you can see! you can make 1 filter and 2 skins last for 10-12 days of riding no problemo senoir,if you figure it out early in the trip. if not ,wash the filter skins in the shower along with your socks and dainties at the end of the day and reinstall and keep going without every having to touch the filter.

cactusreid's 2nd riding tip for baja is to always remember that you are along way from medical help when your out in the middle of no where baja, so ride at 75-80 percent of your skill level when your down there.
