Going insane!!!

I'm going nuts trying to decide on a new bike. I'm in love with both the 2011 FE570 and the TE511. I've read tons of reviews and they both sound great. Is there anyone out there who has spent time on both of these bikes, in particular the 2011 TE511 (new motor)? I know the FE570 has tons of power,smooth but soft suspension but how is the trans, does it have legs for the road sections? I'm 5'10" 180lbs currently ride '03 kx250 set up for woods. Am looking to move to a dual sport, love offroad riding, exploring, fishing etc. I live in northern B.C. and would like to ride to work, 15-20 min. farm road/quiet hwy.
I can not ask around localy still 4ft of snow here and no sign of spring yet. Thanks for listening.

What is your dealer support like? The Husa would be my choice of those two, but I bought a 530EXC last fall. It has lots of legs for highway stints. No one has spent much of any time on them since they are new this year and came out this winter.

However, if you are going to keep the KX for the woods and want the other for dual-sporting and fishing, you should probably look more at the KTM690 or TE630. They are much better on-road.

While it irks me that logic dictates we dont just go grab the bikes we want, I agree with Bora, dealer support IS a big deal. New bike, lotsa changes, make sure you've got the support you need close by.
Another thing to consider is the street legality of these two bikes. The Husky TE's are certified by Transport Canada, but the Husa's are still considered a grey area...
IMHO, while the Husa's are awesome, but they are more specialized, in that they arent really designed for the street, hence the Husky is likely more diverse.

Either way, go Swedes !

Not true, the 2011 Husaberg FE570S is 100% street-legal from the factory and has a Transport Canada sticker.

The Husky TE630 is designed for the street/fire roads, as is the KTM 690 Enduro R.

The TE4490/511 is a street-legal dirt bike just like the FE570S and EXC450/530.

i'd normally recomend the husky but for you....pg has a ktm dealer, get a ktm 450/530/690 whatever.

We have a dealer for the husa and ktm. The husky dealer is new to the bike seen here, they have been around with chain saws and forestry market for a while but just started selling bikes last year. Would like to help support the new guy, but also a little worried getting good support. Is the husa drasticaly more powerful than the te511? How much did they choke off the fe570s to make it street legal? I know the new te511 is not the same engine as the bmw450 but it's seems obvious that there is a lot of input there, so how were the bmw450's and how has the support been from both husky and bmw?

Get the Husaberg fe 570, I have a Husky, and yes i love it, but if i lived in Prince George again that's what i would get. Bernie (still the Kaw/KTM dealer?) used to sell Husabergs 10 or 15 years ago, I'm sure he would be glad to work on a Husaberg again, also a lot of the high wear parts of the Husaberg and KTM are the same. When i lived there No one stocked anything. I had a 2002 KTM exc 400, other tires, chain and a spark plug, everything else was a week or two till it came in.
The exc 400 was fun for the logging roads and the trails started out my back yard (Valley-view) through to the wiegh scales. I did do one real nice trip from Quesnel, west side of Fraser to Willys Lake, up to Likely, around Yanks Peak to Barkerville, then back to the truck at Quesnel. Sept 15th 2003, I liked the ride so much I went back a week later, but had to turn back because of the cold wet snow.
Well the rain just stopped, so I'm going to load up my gasgas and go riding at Ioco.

Like everybody says those are both magnificent bikes. We have a demo TE511 at the shop I work at, I have ridden it a few times in the last week. For a bike set up with reasonably low gearing for trail, it feels great all the way up past 125km/h. I would take out the rimlocks though, pretty bouncy above 100. It's snappy, torquey and light, feels faster than the SM630 I rode yesterday as well.

Having ridden TE510's in the past they pretty much topped out at 100 so it's nice to have the ability to do highway speeds and feel stable on such a light bike.

As a dealer, our initial experience dealing with the distributor and parts has been very positive. All parts are 5-8 days away direct from Husky in Italy.

Again, love all the Euro bikes, just my seat of the pants on the 511.

Thanks for all of the input, still a tough decision between the te511 and fe570 but at least i'm down to two. I just posted on the husa threads about on the road rides with the fe570, what kind of km's have people put on these bikes? I know all about the seat discomfort but other than that any major issues? would like to try and ride to work, and some forestry roads. My back ground is woods riding on a 2st kx 250, so I'm sure I can tolerate riding one of these on the road but what about the bike?

Either one will be fine. One will have a bar bend you like, the other will have the colors you like. Neither have lots of aftermarket tanks (ie: cheap) available or can be kickstarted (get some jumper cables). Don't worry about the km's that people have put on as these bikes are based on the hours, not the miles.

Pick one, ride it, love it, hate it, sell it, buy another...rinse and repeat.
