I am using my01 640 smc for offroad use only. Got rid of the 17"ers and put on a 19" rear and a 21" front. Suggestions on the best suspension set up would be great (230lb rider). Geared to a top speed of 110 km. Also should i move the forks in the tipple clamps for better dirt handling. Any way to make the stock exhaust sound throatier as well as flow better for more power (smc comp. Can). Are there baffles inside that could be removed? Want it to sound like pure offroad 4 strokes. Also the rivets on the lower part of the can keep coming loose, would stainless rivets work better than aluminium? Thank all for your help.

Wheels allready sold. Any idea how much for the doma slip on, and where it could be purchased from. Does the jetting have to be changed in conjunction with this application.

There is a suspension guru on this site, goes under the title of RMRSUSP. Check the thread titled Dual Sport Suspension in Fraser Valley South Coast chit chat, maybe send him a PM. Also if you install a pipe that has more flow you will most likely have to adjust your jetting for the richer.

Carburettor jetting is based on intake and exhaust flow. If you improve either of those through opening up the airbox or unplugging the exhaust, you need to richen up the jetting to accomodate. I opened up the SMC Competition can on my LC4 by removing the end cap and drilling out the baffle with a few holes. Sounded a little noisy when I was done.

Good Luck.
