Hi there I have a '96 DR350SE with 12 000kms on the odometer.
I had my first ride on this bike today and I'm having a 'surging" like problem. At low to near high throttle position the bike surges, not like a bucking horse but very noticeable, (ie: the ride is not smooth either when I accelerate or when I'm trying to hold speed). When I give it full throttle it smoothes out and the surging goes away until I drop the throttle back. This tells me it is something to do with fuel delivery (but I'm a newb at such things).
I had Jesse in Grant Falls OR put in the larger jet and check/clean the carb, I cut out the air box, replace the stock foam air filter with a Uni foam filter, put in a new spark plug, put on a Acerbis fuel tank and adjusted the valves.
Is my bike running too lean at the lower RPM's or.....?
How do I smooth out the throttle and get rid of the surging.....?
Other than that I love the bike, lots of power and very fun off pavement, makes me feel like a superstar off pavement compared to my Wee!
Thanks!
