Here's a starting place for info on the 610:http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139678

The DRZ is better known as a do-all, that does nothing in a spectacular way....except that it kinda does it all in a straight up fashion. They're simple, pretty heavy on the front, with good brakes, strong and reliable. Pretty cheap to own, lots of add-ons available and they run reasonably fast with a few tuning bits n pieces.

Truly cheap and I've yet to have felt she couldn't hold her own....except in the really tight stuff, when the weight becomes quite APPARENT!

It is a so-so road bike and I wouldn't want to ride mine to the interior from the coast. For that I will get a trailer.

The 610 is great fun Bike with lots of power. I found the stock rear suspension stiff and had it and the front re & re-ed. It is as close as you are going to get to a perfect Dual-Sport bike. The front wheel comes up with just a turn of throttle. It's fine on the "B" stuff.

But, you have to ride them both and decide.

I don't know what a 610 goes for, but just do search.

The 610 has been called "A DRZ on Steroids", which is pretty accurate in my opinion. It weighs 10 pounds more but has 20 more HP.
The suspension and brakes are way better than the DR.
The 6th gear is a godsend on the highway, where you can cruise at 120 all day and still have a good first gear for trails.
If you can only have one bike, this is it. It will travel too:
