Husq/BMW Canada not honouring contingency programs

Husqvarna Canada has decided NOT to pay the contingency money that has been owed to racers since 2011. The CDN Dist went bankrupt in Jan/12 and BMW Canada has taken over. BMW Canada has been stringing along dealers and customers for the last 6 months saying they will pay the money owed to racers (less than $25K total owed).

Well, on Friday, they sent out emails to everyone who is owed money saying that they will not be honouring their own contingency program and not to expect money.

If you are a CDN racer and considering a Husqvarna for 2013 be forewarned what they have done to their loyal customers already.

That sucks / is bad press over such a small $$ to a company of that size.
Have you written a letter to the MMIC and/or the competition desks at the CMA and MCC?
This leaves CDN racers with very few contingeny sponsors. Shitty.

I hate to do this (no I dont) but there is always two sides to the story.

I am wondering if the contingency money was already paid out to the distributor and that disappeared with be bankruptcy?
I dont know of the details but was the racers contingency program part of the BMG group or BMW directly?

Just say'n
TT

I have read about this on Husky cafe and I don't know what the rules are here about quoting from other site.

I have emails from Husqvarna/BMW reps confirming that Husq never paid BMG the money. The contingency and the rebate money owed to dealers is still sitting in Husqvarnas bank account. They should do the right thing and send cheques to the riders.

That's a sad way to treat the people who have done the most to build the brand up in Canada.

When I was sending out e-mails about not being able to get parts. I got nothing back from BMW/Husqvarna, but I did get a nice reply back from Husky North America.
