Just installed new clutch cable & have a couple questions

*Bike is a 1994 DR350SE*

I just popped in a new clutch cable on my bike. With the engine started & the bike up on a work stand, I noticed the rear wheel spins when the bike is in gear & I have the clutch lever pulled in. Is this normal/ok?

What's the deal with the 2 adjusting nuts? I have them set as you see below. The pic is of the old cable but the new cable is set the same.

Also, when I put the clutch arm thingy (to the left of the adjusting bolts but not shown in pic) back on I wasn't sure exactly where it went so I just eyeballed/guessed.

Now don't take MY word for it...but on my TW, those two nuts adjust the "friction zone".
That isn't to say that it is the same on your bike...

As for the wheel spinning while the clutch is DIS-engaged....again, mine does this too, especially when cold, not as bad when warm but still to some degree.

Clear as mud now?

you should have a few mm of free play on the clutch lever when it's fully out. take the bike off the stand. release the lever in gear and see whenthe bikemoves. Set up accordingly. I like it when the bike moves when I release the clutch lever about half way. So the two end fingers fit under the lever with ease.

My memory is a bit foggy too and hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong... but I think...

I would call those nuts your coarse adjust. one is the adjustment, the other a locking nut that needs to be released to adjust.

I would set clutch perch adjustment at 10% out then adjust your coarse to remove any slack from the installed cable. This allows the perch adjust to be used for fine tuning as the clutch cable stretches. The arm thingy probably didn't need to be removed! You'll Likely have to guesstimate arm position location so coarse and then fine adjustments are at a reasonable thread positions (10-20% out) with the cable taunt and arm thingy in the fully released position.

I distinctly recall my DR350 did pull a tiny bit in 1st gear with the clutch lever pulled in. I couldn't adjust it out regardless of where I put the clutch action zone.
