Ok Klr people. I have been told that becouse I am not a tall person that I should put a set of risers on the fork brace to life the handle bars. Why?

I can not see what this would do for me. I am about five foot 8 or so and can reach the bars with no problem. Please tell me what I am not understanding here. Is it to do with my center of balance while standing?

thanks

Some people like them, others do not.

I am in camp 2....i put on a 1 inch riser, and removed it a week later as i found it annoying.

If i want high bars that i feel awkward to reach, I will buy a Hardley with ape hangers, and 9 foot long front forks.

Oh ya by the way nearly6'2.....so not a shortie, i am above average height.

I put a set of 3/4" bar risers on and found it makes the bars easier to reach when standing. I'm 5'10". Its easier to stand in balance (ie. not leaning forward to reach the bars, but how much benefit depends on your height, length of arms, etc. (Marty's knuckles drag so he doesn't need risers!) Maybe you could buy his risers?

Yes...Doug's balance is verry good when he stands up. Look, only his feet are toching the ground.

That's pretty funny you know! I think Joker has posted that pic 1000 times, but is still looks as funny as the first time I saw it :D

I put 1" risers with a set of Magura bars on my KLR and it feels kind of awkard as the KLR mounts at an angle toward you so it is not just going straight up, but the bar starts moving towards you too. I'm 5'11"..... Dam it :wi: I'm 5'10 1/2, but 5'11 sounds better
