KTM 690 rear subframe how much weight will it support

I have a 2010 KTM 690 Enduro R and I am thinking (because of its short fuel range) of getting the mototech rack with the Rotopax mount and gas fuel pack.
As this bike doesnt really have any frame back there I am concerned about the weight and potentially breaking the tail off on the Hurley. Does anyone have any idea how much weight the rear end will support? Has anyone put this setup on before with sucess or failure?

I have not seen the RR rack, but I have a KTM (Touratech branded) rack and Rally Raid upper and lower tank bolts installed on a 2012. Of the 3000 KM's on the bike so far, about half have been with the boss on the back 2 up. I am 225 and she is 140. In addition, we have also loaded up for camping (about 30 pounds with water etc.) as well! I know this all sounds a bit crazy. The 690 was supposed to be for me, but as usual, she came for a little outing, loved it, and now I wish I would have held out until I could find a SE. With all that being said though, I have had no issues with tank bolt slop etc. I think the whole "no subframe" thing is blown out of proportion. The KTM rack acts as an exoskeleton and the whole thing is as solid as can be.

Not to be flip but for $749.00 I will haul your fuel ,change your tires if need, wash and fuel your bike. I am available most weekends and I love the Hurley. In addition I can mow your lawn.

For 749.00 I would carry your gas too.

But Im sure thats not what you were looking for

Below I made a simple mount for the rotpak for my x bmw worked great made 1.5 trips thru mexico, rack didnt fail the bike frame did.

As and alternative you can just put the gas in you saddle bags, I have scene it done and it works well

Like others have said I just run a Kolpin Jr:

And here i am loaded with a 11 litre Kolpin and all my camping gear, total weight with fuel was 40 lbs or so:

Now i know this is not a KTM, but there is no real subframe in my bike. The rack basically bolts to a mirror copy of itself that is located under the fender, so it is not even tied into the main frame. I had to re-weld one part but that was because of the extra umph from the KTM engine in it. The poor rack was not prepared for that :) But i have not had a problem since.

Just my 2€

I have had the KTM brand rear racks on the 690 for years. They distribute the weight down to the bottom of the frame (and they give my fellow riders somewhere to hold on to when pulling me out of the weeds). You can mount Kolpins to the side or to the rear top. You can put a lot of weight up there because it rests at the foot pegs. I know lots of 690 owners who go through top and bottom tank bushings but mine have never required replacement. This arrangement has worked very well for me. I have SW-Motech aluminum cans that mount to the racks and a custom top plate for mounting tents, packs, etc. For the appropriate inducements I will post pictures.

Like BCBullet said, "The KTM rack acts as an exoskeleton and the whole thing is as solid as can be".

Edit: Just looked at those Rally Raid units; they look pretty nice too.

Thanks everyone for your feed back.
Those Rally Raid's look great.
I think for now I'll opt for the mototech rack and rotopax and I can always add the RR rack if I need something more substantial. I like the way both the RR and the Touratech act as a exoskeleton though.
