Hey new to the group! I have an opportunity to buy a 08 exc525 with 30hrs for a good deal. My question is that is the bike street legal in BC? It has all the mirrors, plate holder, hi/lo beam and signal lights from factory. What am I looking for on the vin sticker to know if it street legal in BC?

Some of the 08's had an oil transfer issue as they had two separate sumps, one for the tranny, and one for the crank. All the oil would try and get on one side. I believe the fix involved splitting the cases, drilling passageways and converting it back to a common oil sump for both sides.
something to ask about? 30 hrs is crazy low for an 08 bike! I wonder why it never got out much?

There are parts like updated gears, little shaft and o rings that fix the oil transfer issue, which if an ‘08, should be done. Parts are cheap, task is easy. I’ve done one case mod to make separate oil in engine/ trans shared, but I haven’t even done my own, at 270 hours. It’s not getting much love these days. I’ll split the case soon for a refresh, but these bikes are bulletproof!
