left fork leaking from bottom

I just got out here to the Island a few weeks ago. Had the KLR strapped down from Bloomington, IN to Ladysmith, but took it down a few times. Anyway I guess I need a tool to take apart the dampener and replace an (o-ring?) there at the big allen head? Just replaced the seals and they're good. I know I should get a manual, right now I just need suggestions because this is my only transportation. I saw that someone welded somethin up, but I don't have a welder. I still haven't visited any nearby Kawi dealers, any suggestions there? I suppose I could take the whole fork leg off and bring it there (on the wife's bike).
Also can anyone tell me how to adjust my rear shock?

Thought I could at least post an update. Apparently to tighten the hex bolt at the bottom of the fork you can just hit it with an impact. Problem solved, just leaking around the brass washer. Also I really like the guys at Duncan Motorsports.

Glad to see you succeeded. I'm ashamed to admit that I left you without and help but assumed that you had thought of simply tightening the through bolts. It's a tough task to make suggestions by email when one doesn't know the skills and perspective of the person and hasn't observed the symptoms.

When were these shocks apart last? This isn't a common problem and would only likely occur if the bolts weren't tightened correctly.

Hope the remainder of your trip is uneventful. If you need the loan of fork tools, you're on the wrong side of the great water. We'll try to do better if you stage your next leak in the Upper Fraser Valley. (VBG)

Thanks. I just replaced the seals a month or so ago. I started tinkering and fooled around with the hex bolt. Thought it was just spinning but must've actually loosed. Your basic not reading the directions senario. I actually have a fair amount of experience but you wouldn't always know it by my actions/mistakes. Always in too big of a hurry, learned that living in the states. Looks like I'm gonna need to consider new springs all around from reading around here.
