Well I've just installed a Magura hydraulic clutch on my 04 DRZS. I wish I would've done this mod a long time ago, the difference is unbelievable:tup:. The lever pull is stupid easy now, and I always kept my clutch cable lubed.....not even close. I did however have to do some modifications for the installation. The OEM actuator arm on the engine had to be removed and the slot had to be larger to fit the Magura unit....a file did the trick fine. The other mod I had to do was dremel a cove slot 1/4" wide by 1/8" deep in the control clusterto allow the red adjustment wheel to clear the unit. Seems the kit comes for the E model (as well as the TRX 250 and Banshee)and the master cylinder/lever unit isn't designed for use with a control cluster. I've since found out that Magura does make one designed for controls and I could've shipped the M/C to Magura and they would've sent me the different M/C. However, seeing as the plastic on the side was quite thick, and after I'd finished dremeling I was only left with about a 1/16" hole in the cluster. I just filled the hole with black silicone to stop any water from entering and it's good to go:tup:I can live with it, plus I didn't want to wait however long it would take to ship me the different M/C.
The mods needed were really easy and well worth it. I would recommend the Magura unit for the DRZ any day. The people at Magura want your business, they were quite pleasant about exchanging M/C and everything....really nice to do business with.
