From the review it seems that it more the worst of both worlds than the best of both worlds. At least moderately.

That is one thing I like about the Brit magazines and test rides. They are not afraid to tell it like it is. This reviewer used to be the Editor for 'BIKE' magazine I think. Still a fairly positive review except for the vibration and low fuel range.

Hmm so he seems to be complaining that the long travel suspension is too plush and the 21" wheel makes it too stable. On the other hand would he be complaining that it didn't have enough suspension travel and a small front wheel made it twitchy off-road?

Don't know about the vibes but no one else complains about vibes on the other F800 bikes. I wonder if his bike had enough break in miles on it?

The 800GS will be here in fall, sigh. The new F650GS, which is also an 800cc motor, will be here, Victoria,in about 10 days.

The owner says the 800 crashes well. At the intro in Portugal he hit a patch of diesel in a 4 lane round about and dumped it. Quite exciting he said!

That is what I thought too. New bike, low miles. All the Beemers I have owned didn't smooth out 'tillI had 10-20,000 kms on them.

When I test rode the 800 ST the only thing I disliked was the crunchy gearbox (same problem maybe ie low miles?) and the total lack of character ie engine sound. Other than that it was a nice little bike.
