Not familiar with the 08's but if choke cable and all are adjusted fine, I would just pull the carb off and clean out the starter jet path.

Check for air leaks around the carb boots and intake manifold.
An intake vacuum leak would lean it out making it hard to start.

MArty did u open the air box. If u did, try re-sealing what u opend up and see if it will start.

Are you trying to start it when its laying on its side?

Try picking it up and putting it on the kickstand first.

only took out the snorkel, did not actually cut holes in it.

mcfly, ever get this resolved? Sometimes if your throttle cable is too tight the choke just doesnt work cause the slide is up a bit. Make sure you can hear the slide "clunk" as it closes when you chop off the throttle. That way you know you have a little slack in the throttle cable.

Yes I did....I removed the tank, and found an adjuster under it for the choke cable.

Now that its adjusted and able to get full choke it fires right up easily.
