new spark plug

got around to changing the spark plug for the first time ever today. It all went smoothly except the place that assembled the bike stripped one of the tank to frame screws and they didn't fix it. hmm. Guess i'll drill the hole larger and put a stronger screw and nut on it. I was quite surprised at how clean the plug was. nice tan color. 10 years old and 33,000 kms, original plug. the real issue started after putting it all back together. I hit start and it fired up faster than ever. then it died. and died. It appears there are TWO hoses that connect to the tank. I musta missed one when I took the tank off. cause I never saw it when I put it back together. after cusrsing and swearing NOT. I took a good look and thought there must be a second hose as the nipple on the tank was not weathered. I found it, it comes off the intake manifold. I assume it's purpose is to create a vaccum so it pulls a flapper valve open allowing fuel to exit the tank. No wonder I couldn't drain fuel out of the tank to fill the lawnmower. I never got into looking why fuel did not flow when I took the hose off. Makes sense now but I don't recall any other m/c I had over the years that have two hoses off the tank. anyhow here is a pic of the old plug. Also put a new UNI air filter on today. ED
