hey everyone!

im new to riding, i thought about getting a DR400 just wondering if its a good "starters bike" ....

are there any years that i should avoid or problems that seem to arise ? ( check our the fuse box for example)

are the 400's pretty forgiving and take a beating / bulletproof for maintenance?

im 6'1'' i haven't sat on one yet, but im pretty sure that's the path im wanting to peruse, i would also consider a Yamaha, but they seem really hard to get a hold of on the enduro used market !

im a student, at UBC right now.... Home is in Duncan. - im not afraid of getting a good condition "old" bike.

what do decent DR's run for ? ( ill be riding it maybe 3000 km a year TOPS - hopefully more

!) is there any significant difference's between models ? ( "S" vs the "Z" ) ?

thanks everyone !

Nolan, ( my first post haha)

welcome 1st poster, the drz's are either E's or S's, you most likely want on S (actually transport canada street legal, not rummed) there is one for sale right now in the for sale by owner section. The DRZ is a bike that has no likely suspect problem areas, easy low mntce. bombproof engines. Duncan motorsports is closing it's doors, maybe a good deal there for you.
