pre-08 rims on a post 08 KLR

I've got an 09 KLR and I can get a sweet deal on a pair of cherry 07 rims. If they don't fit then there not much of deal!!! I'd like to keep my slab tires on one set and put my 50/50 tires on the other set. Anybody ever checked compatabiity? I realize that the rotors have changed a bit but any other suggestions or fears?

They should fit, no problem, though the '08 and up have thicker spokes. I am pretty sure the axle size is the same but a different mount to the forks.

Front rotor will be smaller on the pre 08, you'll need to swap it over.
