Price for new 09 DL650's...?

Hi there. Well its that time of year and the dealers are interested in getting rid of there '09's.

This is the year I"m getting a DL (sold my '87 KLR to finance the project).

Based on previous year's experience how low will the dealers go to move last years bikes especially given the current economy?

I understand given the Wee's popularity one will have to factor that into the equation (ie: be willing to pay a bit more to get one before they are all gone).

How low couldI expect to get a DL650 standard model (ie: not the SE) for before PDI/delivery etc?

How low could I go with the PDI/delivery?

Bottom line what could I get a new DL650 for out the door (ie: before the PST/GST)?

I have about a $6K budget which would dictate a used DL, but if I could get a new one for a "wee" bit more then I might be interested (ie: new bike smell and warranty) but then I'll be looking at farkleing it up (ie: skid plate, hand gaurds, centre stand, engine guard, and side case racks), so a used one becomes of interest as long as its in good shape and is at least a '07 to get the dual plugs. One advantage of a new one would be the ABS......

No one can answer these questions for you -- there are simply too many variables to factor. If possible, try to deal with your local (or closest to you) shop. Farkles are mostly going to come from online vendors, depending on what you want. I can help you with that (I tried many) if you like when/if the time comes. Enjoy shopping for your Strom -- it should be a happy experience not one rife with anxiety :)

Funny that you asked this. I talked to a dealer on Thursday and he said about $6100 Including pdi. and then add taxes to that. He was out of stock and said that the 09 sold very well. Hope that helps. I want to pick up one this year as well but will probably get a used one.

I don't know about the 'Wee', but last week Rmd. Motorsports was selling their last two 2009 KLR's (blue) , out the door price was $7100. I thought that was pretty good...

I just got mine home today - a white 2009 DR650SE! This is my first brand new bike ever! I got it at NR Motors in beautiful Prince George and the sticker price was $5199. The weather's not too bad and I'm itching to get plates on it.

Edit - maybe it would be best to read the posting title carefully first. Well just the same, I'm pretty excited about my new bike. :D

It's happened to me to. I needNEW glasses.

Pointed it (DR) out just so you wouldn't get too excited only to be disappointed.
