rm 250 dual sport

as the proud owner of a 93 dr 650 and 01 rm 250 woods weapon has anyone seen a rm 250 used for dual sport legally with lights and a plate and if so how did they go about getting that way.

You will have to get the original dealer to register it for you. That would be the easiest way, they should have the original paperwork. Some others joining the board should read this post and give you more information if you have time. I have heard that if you try and register it yourself you have to get it to pass DOT BC regulations:X. Probably cheaper to buy a new dirt bike and have the dealer register it right away before you pick it up. Then its off to ICBC for that plate (dont forget to get collision )

I'm looking into the same issue myself for my soon to be mine DRZ400. If you can't track the bike down to the original dealer you can get it registered at a U-built. The regs are apparently not as tight as you may think for the province to accept it. The light must be a DOT type but Acerbis has these or the bike may already show a DOT lettering on the lens. Beyond that you want a decent tail light of some form and you'll need to mount turn signals and a switch pod to control them. I'm going to make up a rubber fender extension to mount the tail light, rear turn signals and license plate and plate light. For the front I'm either going to mount lights to the bars or use the Acerbis hand guards with signals.

It can be done. Not sure how hard it is. I saw a RM on the toy run a few years ago. It had lights, horn etc.
