Shifting the KLR in MX boots?

I decided I wanted more shin and ankle protection so I bought a pair of Thor Quadrant boots but have found the boots are a lot thicker than my old boots and I can not adjust the shift lever enough to be able to shift gears! Can anyone recommend an aftermarket shift that is longer and maybe stronger to resolve this problem!

Ims makes a longer stronger shifter for the KLR. Put one on my bike after the stocker broke at the weld { common occurence}.

I've got a Moose shifter that is pretty much the same as the IMS that works great. I also have the thor quadrants and rode for a couple weeks with them and the stock shifter and didn't really have any problems. You may just have to adjust your technique a bit... but as Island Hopper mentioned, probably a good idea to replace the cheesy stock shifter anyway...
