Thanks to all for their support so far. Attached is a photo from the other side -- rider's left. I followed the hose leaving the front top left of the gas tank. It goes under the center of the tank. Still do not see any green valve. There is an inline connector than appears to simply connect two hoses.
Here is the actual leak from the gas cap area:

Yours looks a little different then mine. What year is your bike and has the smog stuff been taken off yet?
On the drivers side left of my bike, I have a breather hose coming out of the gas tank into a circular thing, which has a little piece of hose coming out of it.
Same place that you have a hose coming out of, but it looks like yours disappears down into your bike.
If yours is Fuel injected it may be set up a bit different (mine is carb'd).
