Here it is, some of the pics and hopefully interesting stories of 2023 Spring Ride
We will start with some of the pre-rides that were done months before the event, Trail repair, and clearing
Jan 21 2023, let the windfall be removed
Just getting around Tamihi on the EZ trails was almost impossible, here we have Sylvain doing what he does best

DSBC trail clearing crews love the electric chainsaw but when it comes to the big jobs out comes the gas

Tamihi Bridge is looking a bit sketchy but we dont plan on using it for the ride (that will change soon enough)

Jan 22, WTF its snowing, it will pass

The snow level continues to drop

This trail need a lot of work to be ridable, it does not show here but the mud if more than a couple of feet deep and stuck on the side of a slope (how does that happen?)

Starting to take shape after years of neglect

Feb 12
Woodys viaduct over the mud, another bridge in bad shape

A couple of days of hard work and it is ready to go again.

Feb 13
Second Bridge on Woodys in some need of love new section repaired and corner widened

Feb 26 way more snow than we could imagine. Should we cancel the event?

If not us, who will get the job done? shovel the snow off the trail and start working again

Done

March 4 Only 8 days to event day
The Tamihi Staging Area

Trail Marking Crew hard at work, even with all the snow on the ground

Follow the Pink Arrows

Tamihi Connector "the ice bridge"

Fresh Tracks

March 5 Panic is setting in and all the pre planed routes have gone out the window and new route being cleared

Wynonna's Bridge

Keeping fingers crossed that enough snow melts in two days so the Spring Ride can proceed

The Happy Volunteer

One day before event FSR is clear enough, but do have some challenging sections
