Street legalize a KLX 400 R, How to?

I have been asking ICBC, they do not have a list of the modifications and even if I think I know what they are I would like to find a complete list of what is needed, then figure this out: ICBC is unable to tell me a listing of motorcycle stores that does inspection in BC.

Vancouver supermoto is asking $200, Kawasaki Burnaby $95...!


What is the rate, not standard everywhere! depends how you look?

Help would be extremely appreciated.

dot tires(in good shape) dot marked turn signals (front and rear) dot tailight(with licence plate light).handle bar controls for these clearly marked,brake switches installed .working speedometer.front reflectors(sides) ,rear reflectors (sides and rear facing)signed nivvis form. some shops will be very picky,some shops will hardly look at the bike.fwiw the police can make you get reinspected if any of the above is missing or broken or suspect.

also a horn and d.o.t. headlight with high/low beam.

speedometer must read in kph and i am sure it would have to have its own light.

the moto shop beside western yamaha in langley replied with $125 when i asked the price of the inspection. That was a couple years ago.

thats hilarious...you sticky a whole tread on being concerned about ''rum'' bikes and yet your own could have your insurance voided or at the least be ordered to be inspected over an easy fix.:hr:

No you misunderstood where I was coming from:shoot:.The only thing that I was concerned about was if my bike was legal or not...and it's not....SO it does'nt matter if it had a speedo or not,it's still not legal to the "Man"..:shock:but you are right it is hilarious in a strange way.:mad2:And it was a thread I should'nt have started...I have a nack for :Stir:Stir:Stirsometimes.:hb:

There's a shop in Williams Lake that does bikes for $35 that was 5 years ago when I had mine inspected. He does autos and big rigs as well.

If you do not have the nivvis form and are not the original owner from new, you will have to provide ICBC with the previous owners bill of sale.

I took my bike to the bikewrench and he charged 120.00 last month when he did my first KLX

Before you start go to the rcmp site and check your serial number to make sure it does not show on any of their records.
