I am looking to either buy, or build a set of 17" wheels for a DT200R. Does anyone know of a set that is compatible, or does anyone know where I can pick up a set of hubs so that I can build wheels???

rsweet,

I doubt that there are any directly “compatible” unless you buy aftermarket wheels built specifically for you (probably big bucks).

I used some wheels that looked like they could be made to fit. There are probably many, but you will need access to a lathe and maybe milling machine to be able to make the mods.

Starting at the back of the bike the wheel I used is from a Kawasaki Z500 twin (I think). I picked it up at Daytona when they went down the tubes. It needed spacers for the axle (different size), the disc diameter skimming down by 10mm, and a special sprocket adapter to allow the chain to line up.
At the front I have a FZR600 wheel. Again I had to make adapters and skim a little of the width of the hub to make it fit between the forks. It’s tight - 0.5mm clearance to the disc!!! I made an Aluminum adapter to move the existing caliper further out to accommodate the larger disc. A complete changeover of wheels between dirt and hooligan takes about forty minutes. There are two front fenders. A short cut off one for motard looks, and the conventional dirt one. I also made a set of lowering links to drop the back end 40 or 90mm (it’s my wife’s bike now). The DT is a blast to ride in either format.
