I am looking to get my TE 610 suspension worked on. It's just too stiff off road.

Anyways, I was wondering if there is anybody in lower mainland who is good with Husky suspensions.

Thanks

Rick

I believe rmr in abbotsford knows husky suspenders pretty well. A baja riding bud of mine told me he was very happy with what they had done on a te450 he owned.

yeah i had rmr do my front and rear 610 suspesion a few year ago. was pretty happy with the result.

although if you want the guru of suspension I went with ian in vernon from countless recomendations. riders edge. I had my 50mm for the husky wr250 and was well worth the cost.

Ian has actually developed a custom base valve for that bike so he should be able to help you out. The bike needs softer springs as well, as long as you're under 250 pounds. Another option is shipping the forks and shock to Les at LT Racing in Washington, he's a Husky guru.

Well, I sent out a some e-mails a couple of days ago and got one reply. I guess some shops don't need my business.

I have found the same thing when contacting motorcycle dealerships by email. It's very encouraging to see the economy is firing on all cyclinders and no one needs any new business!

Seriously? They should be monitoring email that closely? How about phoning somebody & having a real conversation, or better yet visiting the shop.

Most shops are running minimum staff & trying to multi-task / serve real customers. Inundated with lookie-loos / ebay shoppers via phone & email.

Reminds me of the salesman at a business I worked for once, he complained that he sent numerous e-mails out daily but not much was happening. I was laid off and looking for a new job shortly thereafter.

If they aren't willing to answer email they shouldn't bother having an email address in their "contact us" options. Email gives the opportunity to respond with a well thought out, concise and relevant reply; better than a phone call. Less (no) chance of confusion as to who said what. I wouldn't expect an immediate response to an email; within a couple of days would suffice. Business is changing and some are missing the chance to gain some "real" customers. If going into a shop is a reasonable option that is my preference.

No one answers their phone and some places are over 5 hours away to drive to. Not to mention that they say to contact them by e-mail. (I would rather talk face to face.) And they say if you send an e-mail they will get back to you right away. So......

I'm glad you brought that up. Recently I made a phone call to a dealership to enquire about a bike. I left messages for the sales department and was told I would receive a call back. Over three days I kept trying and finally got to speak to someone. On another occasion I visited a dealership and finally walked out as no one was available to answer questions. They didn't appear to be busy. Maybe I just look funny or smell bad.....

With regards to email and internet enquiries, businesses (particularily retail sales businesses) need to realize that more and more people are using the internet to shop. If they don't wish to answer these enquiries, they should take that option off of their websites.

Sorry North, it's not my intention to highjack your thread.

No problem, I agree with what you are saying. I am sick and tired of excuses being make for Bike Shops. I don't understand why they are so special in the business world.

It's like we can't expect them to behave like a normal business because it will drive the price up or you will not get good service. Don't get me wrong, there are some really good shops around.

99% of my business now comes by phone or email. If I ignored that, I'd be living in a tent.

Answering Emails and Phones?........and how does that get your suspension fixed?

Want to slag the shops, lets start a thread. But before you do that, remember...many of the shops you are about to slag support this site, and the events we hold. The event organisers and site administrators go to these shops for cash support and they give it. I personally do this every year and its like pulling hens teeth if we have one of these "dealers should" threads. But we do it anyhow and we are generally successful. Without the support of dealers and other businesses we are finished:( I know we can make this a membership driven site, I have heard that one too many times, sure a bunch of you will jump on board, but if we dont call you every year you will forget to support us in one year. This site has been going for some 10 years now and going strong and thats because of members and dealers.

Now honestly, do you think the owners of these dealers dont want your business?:censored: Maybe some dont, but the ones I speak to really want you to spend your money with them. They may not have the perfect business plan, but there is not much we can do about that. There are many people on this site that just want to use the dealers (to size boots or cloths) then shop for them on line in the USA. Dont tel me it doesnt happen I see it every week, and Im not even in that business. The dealers follow this site, so how do you think it makes them feel? (used comes to mind) Again I have discussed the exact issue many times with many dealers, they are aware of how we as consumers feel. They just cant seem to find a way to compete with the big gorilla next door.

All I can say is I am glad Im not in the motorycycle business on the North side of the 49th

we live in a "i want it fast, cheap and good qulity" society. you'll go out of business if you try to have the best customer service, with the best quality product for the lowest price. i never email anyone. I phone them. Sometimes a few times until i speak to human being. i get hunderds of email every day at work and alway's wait a few day's. if it's important they'll call. if I react to every email i get i'd never get any real work done.

I don't think anybody is trying to slag our site sponsors. I think the complaint here is that nobody likes to be ignored when looking for a place to spend their money. Most people realize that shops are very busy during peak season and are probably under staffed due to the economy. Given that, a delayed response is acceptable but to be flat out ignored is annoying.

It just seems to be an annoying trend in all forms of sales and service on both sides of the 49th.
