Some DSBC members heard of an accident along the Liumchen FSR outside of the Tamihi Staging Area. I do not have particulars but heard that a motorcycle crossing the Liumchen FSR to the staging area and the accident involved the ORV and a Licenced moto. Regardless we thought we should check out the site-lines from the staging area to the FSR and this is what we found and what we decided needed to be done right away.
Please remember this is not a job or responsibility of DSBC nor do we have permission to to anything, but something HAD to be done promptly. This is the job of RSTBC and its contractors to maintain recreations sites to a minimum level of safety. I think we all can agree that the 100 plus paying campers that may use this crossing whether walking or riding an ORV should expect a minimum level of concern for their safety. Some simple maintenance around this area is in order.
DSBC went ahead and did what had to be done and was glad to do so, but there really should be a better plan in place for the staging area and surrounding area, before somebody really get hurt.
