Are you talking about the balancer chain adjuster, if so it is in the same place as 07 or previous. Only back it off half a turn, tap the bolt end gently to be sure the quadrant moves and tighten to 72 INCH lbs torque. That is INCH lbs. Apparently the quadrant has been improved on the 08, but the spring is to long so won't adjust after a while.
If you are talking about the cam chain this is done by the cam chain tensioner on the back left hand side of the cylinder block. This is done with a spring and a pawl system. Unless there is something wrong with this system, it is tensioned with spring tention pushing against the pawl. So adjusts itself.
I do it every oil change, warm up bike, bike up level or leaning to the right side. If it is done with the bike leaning to the left there is a possiblility that the quadrant can tip out and when retightening the bolt the quadrant can get bent.
I have an 05 and have changed out the old doohickey and spring with after market parts so I have been in there and trust me bike up right or leaning to the right side. I just use my garage door jam.
Marknet or multisurfacemotorcycling.com will show you everything you need to know.
Hope this helps.
