Well it has been a couple of 2or 3 weeks now since I have bought my DRZ. I am now up around 600kms on it and I thought I would share my impression of it with you guys. I was at first sold on the KLR but in doing some homework on the net I started to consider the DRZ and eventually went that way. It is a fairly light bike and easy enough to throw around in the corners and in traffic on the commute. I took it off road for the first time tonight in the mud and lots of dry logging roads for about a half an hour toot. The stock tires were ok but for any amount of off road I would want to change them out. On road they are fine as well and for the best of both worlds they are probably good enough. The power of this little thumper is really surprising. Cruising at 90 on the hwy and roll it on and up to 115 120 in no time and pulling away from traffic with ease. It cruises really nicely around 100 -115 on the hwy all though I am not sure I would want to for the whole day. I think I would have a tough time staying on the hwy that long as I am always looking a every little side road thinking "just because I can ". The only thing that I would like to change about this bike is the gas tank. I am getting around 160-170 kms to a tank but I would like more range just in case I do want to ride the hwy all day. You guys know just jump on and bugger off to Mcbride or the likes for the day and turn around and come home after an ice cream or something. If any one has a 4gallon tank for sale please send me a pm. Over all I am very very pleased I bought this bike. It is fun and great to ride and a lot more versatile than the Harley I was going to buy not to mention about 1/3 the price. One very happy customer so far.
