Anyone know ofa good replacement tire for the "MetzelerMCE 6 Day Extreme"? Or... is it best to stay with that brand/type? I do find them as a good all around tire on/off road... so far, but they do show signs of wearing quickly on the the pavement.

if you like the 6-days extreme tread pattern, the Pirelli scorpion pro is very similar but is a better tire in my opinion, especially the front.

Lots of rears to try. For example:

Cheap: Kenda Trackmaster

Mid: Michelin AC10 (my current tire, pretty darn good)

$$$: Dunlop 606, Pirelli MT21 (these slightly more road biasd knobbies)

How is the Michelin wearing? Do you think it's as durable as the MT21's?

So far the Michelin AC10 rear has been wearing quite well. I have had it mostly offroad though, I'd say 90% gravel and dirt. Like any knobbie it's lifespan would probably diminish quickly on the pavement. Then again, all the MT21's I've had wore fairly quickly on the pavement too. Considering the price, I'm going with another AC10 when this one is done.

i like maxxis maxcross dessert IT on rear. Great hookup and traction in sand and mud. Discalmer "it's non DOT tire" but I don't care.

I have to throw in a vote for the k-760 trackmaster. it looks like a cheapo off shore copy of a real tire, but by dog it holds up very well, gives great traction, and did i mention it was cheap too! i've been spinning one on my 525 for about 1/2 a season now,and it's still got lots of life left. oh ya,it's dot app'd as well. i'll be buying more of these tires.

Is there a good supplierof these brands that you guys are recommending? I don't know what Spunky's has for tires, but I suspect they can get just about anything. Where do you guys shop for tires?

Mile Zero seems to S*** kick most other local shops in this area.I've had super luck with the Kenda 760's. Great traction but noisy on blacktop.
