Which extras for a 2011 450 EXC

So I just picked up a 2011 450 EXC, and I'm wondering which accessory manufacturers and suppliers does everyone like?

The things I still want to get are:
G2 Throttle Cam
Barkbusters
Bashplate
Large Gas tank
Exhaust pipe heat shield
Large rear sprocket 50 or 52 (presently 13-48)
Fold away mirrors

Any other recommendations would also be appreciated (It's been de-smogged, has lower seat & offset shock bushing, Fan kit, Trail Tech Voyager GPS, and an Idle Mixsture adjusting knob. I also have a Scotts damper I'll move onto it once I get the suspension dialed in).

Thanks in advance

Bulletproof Designs rad guards, disc protector, chain guard mount protector
Works Connection skidplate
Clockworks tank
Seat Concepts seat
14-50 gearing (need longer chain)
JD jetting kit
FMF Q4 exhaust
Fan

etc....

Congrats on the upgrade...head and shoulders above the DRZ. I put a Clarke 13.5l tank on mine and added a small MSR fold down mirrror, kinda useless but makes it legal. Would love a steering dampener and a fan is a must in the tight trails with masso.

Hey guys, thanks for the ideas.
So far I've picked up the Throttle Cam (what a difference!), Fork air bleeders, Barkbusters, and the Fold away mirrors. (In my original poste I forgot to mention that it'd already had the JD jet kit.)
For the other stuff (WC Bashplate, Exhaust heat shield, Scotts Mount, Larger Tank, and 52 sprocket with chain) I've emailed a local dealer to find out about price and availability. Hopefully they won't be toooo far off of what I can buy the stuff online for.
At the same time I'm also finding out about an adjustable Accelerator pump, as the stock one seems to work like hitting a Nitrous Oxide button. Which is a real "kick in the pants" and a lot of fun on the logging roads, but really sucks in tight trails (looking on-line, I'm not alone with this opinion).
I've also inquired about an Oil-Cooler, because I can't get over how hot these bikes run (Fan or not). Anyone had any experience with them?

Hey Steve, how long have you been on Orange? Do you still have the little 2smoke? How does the XCW compare in the tight stuff?
Even with the lower seat and offset bushing, the EXC is still taller than I had the DRZ setup for, so it'll be interesting for me. I should be ok with the fast open stuff with Masso, but it's the tight stupid stuff with the "Claw" that being a little closer to the ground would be nice. Oh well.....it'll be fun finding out.

Cheers

You may want to revisit your jetting if it is running that hot. My 09 has only boiled once at the Dead Zone in single track after lots of clutch slipping. If I am careful with the clutch, it is fine without a fan. I have the large IMS tank (clear), Corbin seat (WOW, what a difference!!), a dirt tricks timing chain tensioner coming, de smogged, Scorpion rad guards and skid plate, bark busters, and 1 inch handlebar risers.

I have a 2009, your comments about the " kick in the pants" is interesting. When/if you install a JD jetting kit it includes different thicknesses of O rings one of which goes around the accelerator pump linkage to make it respond faster as I understand it. I have never found the bike to have an overly hard kick, lots of power, but not hard to control. It may be possible that the O ring makes the response more linear. If I get a chance I will scan and post that part of the JD jet kit manual.

Had the orange bike for almost a year now and love it. Broke the little WR in the desert so had to go big and have no regrets. Wouldn't mind trying out the new 350 xcw/exc for the tight woods riding or at least adding a fan...the 450's not really meant to be in trials trails I've discovered. As long as I keep moving it's fine but as soon as I stop she pukes her guts out in a cloud of steam. Gearing it down even farther would help as well I suppose, running 13/52 right now.

Lower than 13/52? The XC-W isn't lower than that stock. What are you trying to climb up? :)

I run 14/48 and will be switching to 14/50 later. I have never boiled over, but I have been running the fan since 0 hours.

Riiiiiight!

Riiiiiight!

Hey Floored .....STOP working on your Bike and Come Out and Play!!!!!

Sure!!!! I can't see needing any armor or conditioning for the nice gentle trails you ride......Riiiiight?!
Let me know when you're doing some high "C"/ low "B" riding though, I'd like to get back into riding shape.
Hopefully I'll have the bike protected enough by the end of this weekend, but my skill, style and shape have a looong way to go.

Hey Steve, are you running "Water Wetter", "Engine Ice", or something like that?

Hey Scott, the PowerPump is ordered, but thanks for the thought. I knew there were other things I could do, but I like the adjust-ability of the PP.

xr8d, I'll have to recheck my jetting after installing the accelerator pump anyway, but considering how many boiled over KTMs I've seen on the trails I used to frequent, heat seems to be a concern for these bikes anyway. But hopefully after I set it up, it won't be toooo much of a concern.

C rides

C rides

If your going to do C rides You Better Get A CORBIN Seat :)

It's not that I want to do "C" rides, as much as it's what I figure I better begin with.
I'd love to start where I left off, but I'm sure I'd just get hurt. Especially considering the new bike is that much taller than my old one.
As an injury is why I've been able to buy this bike for such a good price, I'm hoping not to be passing on the savings ;)
Hopefully I'll be back in the stupid stuff soon enough. And maybe even work up to the reeeeeally stupid stuff you've been riding. (Although there's no way Tracy will let me buy a 2-stroke to do it. Anybody you're riding with on a 4 stroke?)

Try the www.seatconcepts.com seat before you spend a ton of money on the Corbin. I really like mine and it is still narrow up front but wider in the rear for sitting.

Sounds good, and if a not tooooo brutal ride is coming up, let me know.

Cheers

I have an 06 400 exc and use engine ice and added an HT Racing oil cooler and have never had an overheating problem, even in tight single track, abusing the hell out of the clutch. I'm running the stock rads with no fan.

Youve got a bike that is gonna be lots of fun, however it is not ridable in stock form. Like others have said. It will over heat, my 09 had to have the fan kit. I stopped the whole pack at the dead zone as they waited for my and only my bike to cool down.
The rear tail light/plate holder if you got one, will get ripped off. Amazing a company claiming to build on of the best bikes in the world could not figure this out. Do not use the steering lock. Its week and will break inside the head set very easy.
Yep, the mods, you gotta do them to make the bike run the way you need it too. If its a exc r get the wheels balanced. It makes the difference of being able to ride it more than 1km on pavement.
Use a torque wrench on every nut and bolt. The bike is made of very light metal and will strip easily. Trust me . hook up permanent battery charging connections. Get a motorcycle battery maintainer/charger. I found the batterie weak and needing constant care.
Have fun on it

Don't be hatin' on KTM. Direct it at the DOT. There is alway the Euro tail piece. Better angle. Also note our giant left bar switch, also brought to you by DOT standards. On the Euro and Aus bikes (and some of the non-DOT bikes here, like the Six days and the Husabergs prior to 2011) they have the sweet little CEV switch, which is plug-and-play, but $170 for the main and signal switches.
