XR650L 12 volt outlet

Has anyone installed a 12 volt outlet on an xr650l or similar bike? I am considering one to power nav equipment so it dosn't need a lot of electrical capacity. I would appreciate any advice on this.

Depends on what you plan on running

Electric vest and grips seem to be no problem if you are running the road. If you want to run aux lighting I think the altenator is too small.

Check out www.bajadesigns.com they do all the stator rewinding for off road bikes

I have a DRZ400 and run electric vest, heated grips and GPS no problem even at off road speeds

I put a 12 volt out let on my XR650L for a heated vest direct to the battery. Heated grips on the head light. Works great in cold weather. Used both most days in the northern part of Baja in Jan.
