Hi all, this is what I just picked up last summer. Awesome shape! 15000km, I have yet to run into someone else with the same bike on the road. Does anyone know how many were sold in Canada?
Mike.

Hi Mike,

Wow. Does that bike ever look clean. My 86XT600 looked like that 10 yrs ago when I bought it with 8000Km on the clock. Now mine looks very used.

The twisty roads around Vernon will prove very entertaining this summer. Enjoy!

These bikes are not very common. I've only ever seen one otherin regular use around vancouver.

There were two guys at the loose screw last summer on the older kickstart model. Hope to see you there.

Have fun with it!

The Loose screw event looks like a lot of fun. I wouldn't mind getting some more aggressive tires though, the Kenda k270s aren't that great I found unless they are brand new.

Mike.

I use that Kenda on the rear of my 950SE...it works great.

It will work great on the Loose Screw:ted:

I highly doubt that!

My XTlooks realnasty. I'm working on changing that a bit this winter.

Actually ugly and XT kind of go hand in hand. She aint never gonna be a prom queen!

Cheers,

Thanks for the complements. I honestly didn't know too much about these bikes when I bought it but it was in such good shape I couldn't pass it up. It's my first dualsport and it really feels like a fairly new bike. Should be nothing but regular maintenance for the foreseeable future. I've read of people getting huge km's out of these motors.

Hey Mike,

Your right on about just running it! My first xt600 had 100 000Km on it when I sold it and the thing was running like a top.

The one I have now is pumping oil into the crankcase so it's time for some new rings and a light hone on the cyl. I just took the block off it today!

See ya out there.

I totally lucked out when I found my 99 XT600. a guy brought it over from Austria, toured the U.S and Canada then sold the bike to a dealer. picked it up for a sweet price, bike came with a huge Acerbis tank for 400+km trips, I've also sunk a grand into a new top end and another $ 425 for the Arrow pipe it sounds wicked ! it's not as capable as my old 83 XR500 was but I love this bike.

Back in the late 80's I sold my 86 XT600 to an Austrian who was touring Canada as a student and he intended to ride the bike across North America and then take it home to Austria !
