If dual-sport, you have to use ICBC for the basics 😠, but you'll want to use Beacon for everything else.

@Rustic attempts to turn this into a Mud Lakes thread aside :LOL: - according to my many spies, the bridge across the Nahatlatch from Kookoopi is still intact... Thinking about venturing across and then up the West side of the Fraser (Texas Creek FSR) to Lillooet in preparation for this years...

A certain adventure rider (@tomcycle ) once said - and it still stands: "when the snow is gone from the top of Grouse, Kookoopi pass will be passable." I'm also hoping the road gets repaired in time for the annual pilgrimage to the Adventure Bike Gathering!

We have a warehouse space in Maple Ridge at the end of 256th St that has been subdivided into lockers for bike storage. In additional to storage, you get a place to work on your bike, and a warm dry place to change in/out of your gear. No need to truck your bike there/back, load/unload, etc...

On the other end of things, yer helmet quality is paramount to safety, being able to deal with changing weather, and even fatigue (re noise). I'm been using the Arai XD4 for years, and couldnt be happier with it. Comfy, top-rated re strength, safety, and relatively quiet; the only thing I wish...

As others have reiterated, having proper kit head to toe is important. Sadly, I'm often shocked when I see folks riding with "less than adequate" boots (or worse, not boots 😡). Any old boot will NOT do; the stuff that flying around down there (rocks, sticks, etc..) can easily break bones at...

KTM's stock suspension has actually gotten (much) worse over the years (read: "XPLOR"). So much so that they now sell proper suspension as an extra, read: "XPLOR Pro" 😡

Planning a route up to the gathering. With the White Lake fire having devastated so many communities - does anyone know if hwy 97 is even currently passable? Monte Creek and Douglas Lake FSRs go right through the fire zone, so If anyone has recommendations re other routes, I'd appreciate hearing...
