Yorkie, I was going to reccomend to you the Q2, but I see you have allready chosen it. I initially bought the same muffler and was amazed at how quiet it was. As a matter of fact, It was too quiet for me, here in SO. CAL.traffic and I needed some help being heard. So I shelved the Q2 muffler ( I will keep it for when I move after retirement) So as not to piss off the smaller community neighbors. I then went with a Supertrapp Aluminum Race with 12 discs. Just enough umph to get attention, but not obnoxiously loud. Te each his own, thats for sure. The FMF is a great muffler, I felt the same way about preformance gain after I did allthe same modsyou did. Now she runs! Good luck out there, ride safe.

Now I need an endless supply of rear tires! LOL

The mods aren't that destructive aside from boring out the slider return holes. I modded mine and re-jetted with an FMF kit a while back and saw decent gains in throttle response. I'm now looking to upgrade to an FCR-MX41 and a proper full exhaust.

My Mods:

14/48 Sprockets (Max speed about 135 in 5th, but who needs highway speeds?)

FMF Jet Kit (Stock exhaust, sea-level... need to re-jet since I've moved to AB, 2500' here)

Double-Take Mirrors (Awesome!)

i put the smog block off kit on i think i jumped the gun. i put a pro circuit type 496 pipe on it the bike still pops like crazy when off the throttle.if the choke is on just a little bit it doesnt pop at all.it runs good otherwise.is it running to lean should i try doing daves mods on another carb of course any help out there thanks dick milwaukee wi.

Hands down best mod (in MY opinion) is the Sudco Racing 41 mm flat slide carb. You will not be disappointed!

It came with the bike. I could likely find out where it was bought from if you like. Swapping carbs is not hard BUT tuning it will likely be tougher. I may still have the box. I will check tomorrow for it.

Mine is a 1998 and did 2.5 laps of newbie ride no problem!! they rip you just got to ride them like a couch!!!
