So your KTM 09 450 EXC, does it overheat?

I was on thumpertalk and holy smokes. everyone complains about it. Everyone spends $10000 on these things and then needs to immediately do cooling upgrades to these bikes. Kinda pisses me off that a company continues to sell the same product they know has this issue.

So just curious,

thanks zoo.

i dont take to heart what they say on ADVRIDER or THUMPERTALK because they arejust a bunch of spoiled americans [they whine about everything] but its funny sometimes what they say although once and a while someone with some brains can give good info..the bike may be set-up differently than our bikes due to certain laws in their country compared to ours...i put a fan kit on mine-its recommended because these engines are hyper and produce lots of grunt, so cooling it is a priority-you will have to keep an eye on every aspect of this bike because it is a "niche enduro"race bike- not a boring slow domestic asian"justput gas in and forget about the maintenance all seasonbike " most of what i read on the internet about the KTMsis disinformation by guys who never even rode one-so my advice is to set-up your bike to what your useage will be and readTHIS forum instead [because we are canadians and are smarter]and enjoy itand have fun -youll love the EXC ...ZO13

i might do the stator upgrade but i dont need heated grips or electric vests or ipod /laptop /kindle/x-box/SAT phone/gps plug in charge outlet thing but i might..yes ive ridden all around here lots [toooo much so]thati am actually trying to get into motarding with thisbike as i always wanted to race flat track style as im getting old fast and want to race like this before its too late.. i will modify my bike totally to SUMO race spec eventually[still waiting for parts]-but will keep the dirt wheels around for some dirt action once and a while..i use this bike alsoas a daily driver [to work and stuff] and its awesome so far.. no probs -im keen to not overfill the engine with oil like most of thosefools end up doing..i dont see KTM450EXC in your sig-do you actually own one yet??ha ha..ZO13

went for a ride today [it was warm for dec]to charge up the battery- the bike started up fast but took a lil while to warm up though-so i went to some bike shops and VMS [at mccurdy] has my EBC SUMO front disc in :clap:they ordered two of these for someREASON....so,if anyone is interested in a front320 mm disc and bracket for a 450/530EXC they have a spare... had to check out that $90,000 ducati at SWM as well as the new bikes...that new indian is quite a flashy ride but no price was on it..im still looking for a street bike- really likedthe used 990 SD they had in there....
