Don't forget to give me a shout before you do the scouting trips ... I'd like to go along. I haven't done the Telqua Pass ride yet; it would be good to check it out.

Wow, I'd be all over this if it was on a Sunday. I'll try to rope a guy into covering work. Definitely want to make this trip this year.

The date is still open for discussion.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ada5d1"I'm thinking that Saturday, September 12th might be better because the fifth is on the Labour Day weekend.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ada5d1"I'm not sure about making it on a Sunday as it commits us to doing the ride and, for some, making the ride home the same day. It's no problem for me if we're still going Telkwa to Terrace. We learned the hardway, last year, that driving home after the ride was not our best idea.

Since it seems that time flies by so fast especially when one is having too much fun, I thought I'd post a few invites to the riding brood. The main focus here is frivolous times and the cabin (remember No Star thrills).

1) A Telkwa Pass, apres ride party type of thing to reminisce the rides of the year so far. Do the pass Saturday, be festive and journey home.

2) Perhaps a July/ August summer weekend with the family (wives and kiddies included) Kind of a "meet the idiots" you ride with type of thing.

Anyhow, feedback would be greatly appreciated as I would have to book time off most likely.

Telkwa for sure, maybe the meet the idiots party could be closer to home rather than fraser lake but idiots we are and I guess they should know who to call and who they are talking too in case of a fall or whatnot.

When we went to fraserlake she didn't know who I was with, no number or anything, I didn't even have your guys numbers but she seemed kind of ok with that! Let's ahve a meet the idiots party when Paul comes to get his bike....Paul, come get your damn bike:hb:

Back to the matter at hand, last I heard Sept 20 was recognized as the date set for the Telkwa Pass Ride. Since there hasn't been much discussion regarding this event, and the other forum thread is LOCKED, I'm confused as usual. Is this the date?

If this is the date, so far I'm a go. That's one committed. Actually I'm ready to roll on the 19th. The reason I ask is that it seems time flies too fast and as the Proud One says "pick a date or it won't happen", or something like that. Also peeps need time to make arrangements for time off etc. Open 'er with some discussion please. If it stands as the date I will probably detour to the Lake for a day or so, anyone as always is welcome to go there or join me.

My bad.

I have now updated Topics to show that the ride and social will be on Saturday, September 19th. I took out the "tentative" part as we now know that no stream is impassable.

We will be going Telwa to Terrace, so the social will be in Terrace.

I will be in Vancouver on July 28th and should find out what our participation will be.

BTW, the other topic is locked, with a link to this topic, so we don't get sidetracked, hijacked, or just plain confused, by items being posted in two places.

Greg see my ride report om Rides. Telkwa is open for business!! We MUST do it during the summer when the weather is much nicer.

I am in for the social part:hb:, not to sure about the riding part. I think I would like to do the not so rough parts, at a slow speed just to ease into it a little before the snow comes once again.

Once again the invite for anyone who wants to spend a night at the Houston end. I am about half an hour from Telkwa.

Are we a go for next weekend?

My bike's still broke so I'm just a maybe myself.

I'm guessing that if the weather is like it is today it might be less attractive to some ;).

Klrnorth and I discussed this last week and are up for riding the pass from Terrace to Telkwa to meet up with any riders using the highway to get to Telkwa. We can all ride back together over the pass.

I can't remember if it rained on last years event:shoot:

While we were on the trail we might have had a light drizzle at one point but the rocks stayed dry.
It rained on the way home. And rained. And rained.
I think that we all had hypotermia.

I was only joking Greg. The extremes high's and low's of last years ride are something I will never forget.

Let's hope that you get the KLR sorted for next week. It would be a real shame for you to be sidelined.

The main reason I am preferring to ride in and out over the pass is the KLX does not enjoy extended runs on the black-stuff. I have just about enough gas to get to Telkwa and re-fill for the return leg.

It is a shame that sparklr is working. We may have to do it again before the snow flies.

whats wrong with your bike Greg? Mine is put back together, but sadly I am still a little sore for such a ride. The pavement portion is of interest though, I will continue to watch the site for updates.

I think I'm in, unless the weather is really bad. Will get my new dirt tires put on in the next day or 2. I'm not interested in the pavement ride, so there & back through the pass would be my plan also, sounds like a long day though..... Is it passable in a 4x4 tracker with bigger tires? If so, my cousin my join us.

To be honest I'm not too keen on that ride this time of year this year. I did it three times in July when it was hot and sunny and warm enough for a swim at the top lake in the pass. I'd go if Proudman insist's but only for safety concerns. This time of year the pass can throw alot of different weather at you quickly. A truck could probably make it but there would be a few tricky sections I'd imagine. Keep us updated on the plans, mine could change but for now I am leaning towards riding something not quite so epic this weekend.
