Seriously like the look and price of this bike, just not the weight. Has anyone bought one? A Review? And if you were to buy one which dealership in the lower mainland would you choose?

Price is right. U have to spend a little in aftermarket stuff,but what bike wouldn't you?

I have been wondering about this bike since it's introduction, but had not heard any comments from owners. I like the low seat height (I'm vertically-challenged) and low price. What is the bike like on the highway?

I bought one last Aug.
I've basically parked my 1300cc Sport Tourer and use this one for my daily ride, only taking the behemoth ST out for longer trips.
I've had it on the highway once. It managed to get up to 120 km/h in a reasonable amount of time. It'll do 100 easy enough with just me on it. The biggest concern I would have on any long trips would be wind..expect to get knocked around.
I think its a great little bike and serves my needs well. I've been off-road on both forestry service roads and single track stuff with no problems. Small tank, but I'm getting on average 73mpg.

Concerning the wind on the highway, I found a solution that works well for me. I installed a windscreen made for the CRF250L. It eliminates the push on your torso, and improves high speed handling IMO. I don't have the screen installed except on a long highway trip. I found out the hard way, it not a good idea when off road. But definitely improves comfort levels on long trips on pavement. They are a couple people using this bike for RTW trips. Steph Jeavons is one. She uses the same windsheild.

As a result of my one time "moderate" off road riding I burned out the clutch. Research shows that there are folks in Asia having the same problem. Certainly didn't expect the clutch to go after 2300km and one hard ride. Up until this point it was back and forth to work and some logging roads.
Honda's warranty won't cover it as its a wear item! They showed some goodwill and offered to pay for the replacement part but not labour. Parts on back order!
Not as robust as one would think for a supposedly "on/off road" bike. Bike is too new for any after market clutches!
Disappointed..to say the least!!

he he - dry weight of a DR650 is 324 pounds.
I was looking at these but man. Not impressed at all! Heavy, underpowered and super tame suspension! My buddy has a KLX 250S, I've been looking for a DS bike since selling my Gas Gas. Maybe that's my problem, I'm used to a real off road bike, only problem is if I want one I can plate then I'm paying 8-10G's.
Just wish the Japanese manufacturers would catch on and stop making grandpa bikes and make some real off road machines that you can plate.
