What's a fair price for a '02 520 with street legal kit in very good condition?

They'll give you a grin that only a team of very gifted plastic surgeons could remove. That could be an issue.

I bought mine 2-3 years ago for $3800.

They're awesome bikes, if your not already a KTMer, these bikes will turn your blood orange.

Check the usual stuff prebuying like fork seals, and the output shaft. Both of those leak on mine now.

Don't be put off by the motor rattle when the clutch isn't engaged, the all do that

And make sure to check the valves semi regularly

Great bikes for the money. Do the camshaft bearings/sprocket upgrades before your decompressor stop falls out and lunches your engine, it's cheap insurance. Hardest part is breaking the cam chain.
