Been lurking for awhile and signed up. Been riding for ages mostly street but took the plunge for a little off-road adventure and loving it ! Started with a KLR, Africa twin, and now have a Super Tenere. Always game for a ride with someone but find myself riding solo quite often as my riding partners still ride on the street. Cheers !

would be really helpful if we knew your general location and preferred riding areas routes if you have any.

Welcome

Though I am not in B.C. I love looking at this Forum on occasion. I found information on my first dual purpose motorcycle here, a 1990 Yamaha DT200R. I now own two d/p and an ADV motorcycle, a 2019 Honda CRF450L, the DT and a 2007 Suzuki V Strom. I've had a chance in 2019 to ride in the Invermere area for a week on the V Strom. Was a lot of fun and was able to push the V strom into places I wouldn't have dreamt of.
That ride, as well as others taught me the value of riding with a group of people who also love riding riding off road and on gravel roads. Most of the riders on the Invermere ride(s) were more skilled than myself. But, as the week progressed, I was able to improve immensely. My V Strom proving to be a faithful companion! Try some group rides, you'll see how nice it is to ride with people on the same type of motorcycle. Not only will you get faster and safer, but you'll make some new friends. Though I was definitely a "lone wolf" type rider before, I rarely venture off road without another person or two.

Hi hear ya! I'm 55 yo and been riding with a buddy since we were 16, I took to dual sport only in 2016 when the AT came out and still can't get him off his Gold Wing! I now use the AT for two track non technical off pavement after 2 years of trying to emulate Lyndon Poskitt....two severely sprained kankles later (one each side to balance me out!) I've seriously down graded any technical riding to the XT250!! What a hoot. Still love the AT for non technical off pavement and general touring about. Would be interested in an East Harrison rip - coming from NVan so would loop back around through pemby to home.
