Ok! That sounds like a plan. CR next weekend and a local ride tomorrow. I put about 10km on it today, that's it. I really want to test it out on the dirt.

I got it here at about 1pm today. I haven't done a thing to it...100% stock everything. I have an air filter and jets that should be getting here on tuesday and a smog block off kit coming from ebay sometime in the next couple weeks. Then I get to uncork the thing and have some fun!

So, new riders....Attention: Just a little bike shed cleaning notice....

Lets tighten up on the posts....keep to the subject....Someone watching this post "About anyone planning to go on a ride this weekend????) is going to get quite exasperated

12:30 am, is somebody PUI (posting under the influence)? I don't think it's that big of a deal, I saw your guys pics and story just fine and if there was something I didn't want to read that's what my back button is for. I actually kind of chuckled when I read this thread and the confusion.

PS; See you next sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Campbell River motocross track at 11:00AM pacific standard time. ;)

Very happy with the decision to go with the XR650L. It works great and was very fun to ride today!

Yes, I love a good hi jack especially when it involves talking about the 525...

Yes, all the stuff is on. It is a 10.5 L tank, I have been getting 18 km/litre only because I was behaving myself. When the gravel gets a little looser I am sure my economy will be reduced due to the ear to ear smiling I will continue to be doing.

I have my eye on some kevlar goodies.

Kijack 2....wont be makin it down for the other ride at 11:00 pm mountain at the track in Tahsis on the 7th of March. :D

Careful there! The ride is in CR at the motocross track next weekend, FEB 7th...
And hey, let's keep this on topic
Video from our ride today to follow in a day or two....in this thread!!!
We left the track, headed back to some little cabin on Beer Lake, then decided to head behind the lake and out towards the airport. Followed the powerlines, and then through some trails and open logging roads to a place known as the 'mini track' or '50 track'. On the way back to the main track by the lake we headed on the 'Tom Brown' Road, and hit the Tom Brown pit on the way back. Overall a mere 40 km in a few hours. Great weather (no rain) and lots of fun.

That sounds like a good loop for next sunday with a trip from Moses's motorsport park (50 track) to the Oyster river trails as well.
