Argh!!!! Between the end of last riding season and wanting to go for a ride this last weekend, I lost the keys to my 610sm! I have one ignition key but have lost both gas tank keys and one ignition key.

Does anyone know if I can take my key codes to a key cutting place and get some keys made?

I tried calling 5th Gear, who was suppose to phone my back - no call back 1 week later. I called the Husky dealer in Kamloops and they said I could bring the key code to a key cutter. Anyone tried this before? Any other suggestions?

Yes, you can make new keys from the codes if you have the correct equipment and suitable blanks. Try your local locksmith or Daytona Motorcycles, they may have a code duplication system (they used to before they moved)

I don't know where you are located, but any locksmith should be able to cut them if you supply the code as long as they have the correct blank. I use Precision Lock on Hartley in Coquitlam (behind Home Depot on United)for anything I can't copy with my basic machine. Kevin and his staff really know their stuff. Might be an idea to get the blanks from Husky first,if they are not a very common key.

Good luck,

Argh! Don't lose your keys! Its a pain in the butt to get another set.
The key blanks are backordered and I can not find any proper ones on the internet. Dammit, my nice weather riding time is wasting away.

Did you talk to 5th Gear? Many gas tank locks are generic andmultiple keysfrom the same brand will work, take the tank in and see if he has something to fit. As far as the ignition switch, it should be pretty simple to bypass the switch with a jumper. My guess is there are only two wires that need to be jumped.

Other solution, buy a keylock set, priceybut gets you riding.

Try Pacific Yamaha/BMW/Husky if you're in the lower mainland. They may be able to help. 604-276-2552 or 1-866-580-2552

Do you have the original key code ? it was imprinted on piece of rubber inbetween the original keys. It can be cut from a generic key . The guys we use are on 5 road richmond . If you don't have the code take the ignition key cylinder off. But getting the tank cap off is a nightmare.

Send your Vin number to [email protected] husky might be able to trace it but I highly doubt it because your bike was bought from Cagiva.

I have the key codes. Whats the name of the place on #5 Road 5th Gear?

I also tried that place on Hartley avenue noted above, but the lady I spoke with
told me the key codes are not bringing up anything in her source book and
could not help me.

I also tried Pacific/Yamaha, but they are not set up for that yet and cannot get me the Keys.

I looked everywhere! All my riding gear, backpacks and jean pockets. I even
tried to blame it on my girlfriend, needless to say that didn't go very well :mad3:

Do you have small children? If so, they are probably long ago flushed down the toilet or at the bottom of a toy box, if my experience is any guide. And remember, when you eventually find them, it will be in THE LAST PLACE YOU LOOK...

Good luck man, that sucks.

Well a bit of success today. I took my gas tank off of my bike and brought it into Precision Lock and Key in Coquitlam and they were able to make me 2 keys for the tank that work!

Now for the ignition, and for anyone else who may go through this scenario, the key/lock brand on the 07 Huskys are Zadi and the code for the blanks are ZD7 (for the ignition).

They called into there key supplier and they are sending over the blanks for Monday or Tuesday next week. So, hopefully with my key codes they will be able to cut the keys and I'll have ignition!

Not sure who I first spoke with on the phone, but the guy that was there today new his stuff and helped me out.
