Probably not the correct thread, but those following this thread might want to know that, since all of the development on the fairing is now done, I am now selling the 'White KLR' that I did the upgrade work on and was displayed at the Vancouver show.

Anyone interested in a 'fast forward' route to a fully upgraded KLR for this year can contact me with a private pm.

Cheers Ian

Nice job Ian...this fairing reminds me something...oh yes the one on the big DR (750/800). Excelent job

Do you see any incompatibility with the IMS tank?

I m 6.4 would this new fairing protect me enough from the wind? i m using the one sold on KLR650.com which is 9" taller than the stock one. However it only brings the air flow from my chin(stock one) to my forhead and since i m wearing an arai XD...it s still very noisy... i m thinking about give it a bit more forward "bent" but your design could be a very interesting option...

thx for your hardwork.

Things have certainly moved on a lot since this topic started in early '07. The XS fairings have sold steadily throughout '07 (mainly to the US), but many enquiries continued to ask for a fairing with better lighting than the poor stock item.

Many weeks of development this year have resulted in two new fairings to join the original. The XS Twin and the Phoenix Twin. Each uses two of the new 90mmDOT headlight modules from Hella, with the low beam of the 'projector type' found on some high end European Cars. These lights both use the new H9 65w bulb, reputed to give out 20% more light than the equivilant H4. Basically, this is as much light as you are going to get without HID and a conversion to HID is also an option. Needless to say, the comparison with the stock unit is 'Calk and cheese' !

So, no more lighting problem on the good old KLR !

Here's some pics of the two new fairings:

The XS Twin

And the Phoenix Twin:

And a couple of the Carbon dashboards that fit on all 3 fairings

So that's it for the KLR. The next designs will follow similar design features, but will be designed for the TE610/X-Challenge/KTM Brigade.

Cheers Ian
