Backcountry Road Closures to Aid Wildlife Recovery

Some very large areas from fires this past season (2021) now have huge motorized closures on them. They are meant to be temporary up tp 18 months but will also have special considerations. (Watch for those here as your Provincial offroad orgs and local clubs work with their local FLNROD officials to reopen riding areas.

Due to severe wildfire damage in areas of the Thompson Okanagan and one area in the Kootenays, 15 motor-vehicle closures under the Motor Vehicle Prohibition Regulation of the Wildlife Act are in effect.

The areas are fully closed to all motorized including snowmobiles. Light Green lines denote FSR's that are open to travel and all public roads are open. So for instance you can still do Boston bar to Coquihalla via Murray lakes and you can do the Kane and Vought Valley roads from Coldwater exit to Connector and Aspen Grove.

We will post up hear as we hear about specific trails / areas that may also be green lighted.

Harrison East to Nahatlach?

Has anyone been over this road this year? Still snowed in? Planning to ride this June 20th -25th and then checking out Yalakom FSR to Poison Mtn. and possibly China Head Trail. Might be a bit early this year. The rest of our planned trip should be good. Thanks.
