Greenlake, I will be very surprised if you come back with the rack still attached. The sub-frame will not take that kind of weight. The rack is great but not what it is supported on. At least that is the way on my KTM 400 EXC.

Have a great trip. blocker

Any bets, the license plate will stay on!!!

Not a chance!! I am going to bet most of them will lose their plates if not the bags they are carrying on the back! :hb:

I am with you there Rambo--- any thing on the back rack (including the rack) is available to sacrifice to the "Baja road god". blocker

ME 3! I'VE GOT 2 BUCKS ON A MEXICAN GETTING A NEW BLUE SLEEPING BAG! BAJA TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH COMES OUT SORTA LIKE THIS- SHAKEEN THEE SHEET OUTA EVERYTHING ON THEE BIKE! I AM AMAZED EVERY TIME WE GO SOUTH,JUST HOW HAMMERED THINGS CAN GET IN A COUPLE THOUSAND BAJA KM'S. WE HAVE ADOPTED THE "RUBBER MOUNT EVERYTHING" STRATAGEY.IT HELPS,BUT THINGS STILL SHAKE LOOSE. JUST MAKE SURE THAT THINGS WONT FALL INTO YOUR CHAIN/SPROCKETS,AS A SUDDEN LOCKUP CAN BE BAD FOR YOU AS WELL AS YOUR DUDS. HAVE A GREAT TRIP GUYS!!

Not to beat a dead horse but I fourth the rear rack assessment.

In addition to breaking the subframe, light enduros handle like crap in Baja woops with any kind of gear strapped on the back and up high like that. When the back end starts to pass the front in the woops you'll have no time left to correct the issue before impact.

Put that stuff in a backpack and the bike will handle like it should.

Just trying to help.

Have a teriffic ride guys!

JOKER: YOU NEED A DRY RUN ( OR A BIT WET,WINK WINK) BEFORE YOU BRING YOUR SON. JUST TO GET YOUR SEA LEGS SO TO SPEAK. JUST SPEAKIN FROM EXPERIENCE,I FELT A WHOLE LOT BETTER TAKING MY SON AFTER I HAD A BIT OF BAJA BACKGROUND UNDER MY BELT. THAT SAID,IT'S GREAT RIDING WITH YOUR KID IN A FAR OFF LAND.

Have a great trip guys......looking at Feb next year for myself:clap:

.....seeing as alot of people have concerns about the rear rack and it's contents....wouldn't it have been a GREAT idea to post up...before...notthe day, or after they've left for Baja:?

....go easy on them TT........:hb:

Oh they were told. Tom tells everyone exactly the same thing everytime he goes. It's up to you to listen, and believe. Now look at John James last year at Baja he lost his whole one side Jesse type bag and he never did find it either. So anything that you strap to the back of the bike, with the road conditions in Mexico, You can be sure that something will come off. There for future riders ...beware.

License plate is missing
Darren always loses his license plate...Don't quite know what it is with him and those plates. Couldn't be going too fast and hitting too hard ....nah that can't be it... did you see the turn signals are both missing too. ;)
