BC Bug Run

There is talk of organizing a province wide "Bug Run."

What is a bug run?

It is like a poker run but messier. (For the bugs.)

Participants are sent a low tack "target" to put on your bike, helmet, jacket, etc. Leave from your home with target in place and we all join up at a meeting place to party. A suggestion has been made to meet at the CMDRA all bike races in Ashcroft in mid July. There we compare targets and get some cash & prizes for the biggest splat, the most splats, closest to the center or whatever we pick. We would like to donate a little cash to the Alzheimers Society too.

I bought a brand new Versys last week and I won't be taking it far off the road if at all so getting it all muddy and scratched up isn't an option. But bugs!!!! yeah that's do-able - actually it's unavoidable. A road trip? You bet, tell me more.

Cool bike! I hand built an exhaust for a Versys. The exhaust modsand a power commander sure cleaned it up.

We are still working out some details and all suggestions are welcome.

You guts are pretty close to the Ashcroft drags. You might have to go back and forth a couple of times to get enuff bugs.

We're riding down to Laguna for the GP at the end of July. If you have yer bug run 1st weekend of August I could prolly show up with a couple of hundred pounds of the suckers still stuck to my bike.

Timing is everything. July 17 & 18 are the plan right now. Those are the dates for the CMDRA motorcycle drags in Ashcroft. They are really something to see, if you have never been you should go. You owe it to yourself as a rider.

We have a nod from the CMDRA to pick our winners at the July 17th allmotorcycle drag race in Ashcroft, BC.They have offered special rates and camping at the eventfor bug run participants. Targets should go out by the second week of July. There will be motorcycle enthusiasts from all over western Canada!
