I'm going to try to make it out for breaky on Sunday too, but, like Alex, I won't be able to ride afterwards.

Ah, grasshopper, true enjoyment stems from the journey, not the destination (that's my excuse for procrastination: that and this working thing that Ireturned home to). :ted:

Likewise Al, was a good breaky meeting today. Got to ask some firsthand questions of Travis about hislatest adventure. Got a stack of motorcycle mags from Ruskinrider that I will peruse and then bring back to Bruces for someone else to enjoy. Some came ready to ride, some by cage. It was the essence of a casual dualsport gathering with tech talk and tips, riding area tips from the lowermainland to Alaska. Of course Klr's do fall over occasionally(my DR650 naps also), but hope the pictures and stories posted in the breaky thread don't discourage others from dropping by and saying hior participating in a ride. There is short local jaunts available for all skill levels, you just need to know when to say.... nah I'm gonna take a break(holy crap is that a trail or a creek:shock:). Seriously thoughmost of the local viewpoints are all C type riding, but can be busy which hones your awareness and safety skills;).

Cheers, Alex.

This is a good place to drop by for a workout! It's an Abandoned Prision with no buildings just strange trails, carved MX tracks, hill climbs and some single track..Enter off 251A.. The gate is ridearoundable and you'll find access to 256th and gravel pits. At the top of 256th, Theres more!as well as Allouette rd off of 249th just at the womans prison, gates are easy to ride around.

"DONT:wi:..The Neighbors on the way in!"

Alex..Good ride tip!:woohoo:

Silverdale gas to Wren st Mission. We took Mclean to Donatelli to Gaglardiand then Law Ave to the gateentrance around the gate was easy, good climb up atwisty paved road to multi forks. Hard packed clay and soft slick cart trails we found the platoe you said! nice lookout over silverdale/lougheed. We took all but one trail and found our way to Wren st mission( Exitedacross from..31530 Olson ave@ Foulds st. there's a large split in half log!)then Clay st to Tyler st which turns into Wren south to Lougheed (KFC)

Awesome route to mission maybe 8-9k of trails and overgrown bush. We will definatly go back for a romp...I think we found the ruts where you fell over sat..we both almost bailed a few times..tricky big ruts uphill and very slick clay with tall grass. the place is very clean and no garbage.

If anyone is lookin for a good place with trails look up this address on google maps and "Be cool entering the property! Dont wana:censored: the neighbor's"

Cheers.

If You Guy's know of a good trail or passage..Post up like this! I'd like to make a Dual Sportroute to Sylvester,Stave/Allouetteor ? from Bruce's and a different way back consisting of Twisty roads, trails, scenic stops and places to...:bliss:Go Nut's!

Nothing planned as usual,( I'm pretty good at the breaky part of the deal though:D).I seem to be having an injury prone type of year so personally I was just looking to get out on the bike and doing something that requires minimal effort. Ya know, twist throttle, enjoy a view or two for a few hours. Guess it also depends on who shows up, cause it's always a surprise.Of course the Bruces thread is always here to float an idea and see if there is an interest, I'm just the instigator;).

Fishing is a good thing, todays ride was nothing spectacular. As much BS timeas riding time but blood did have a theme from thumb to palm. Untimely meetings with a bee/wasp all helped to add to the disconcerted feeling I awoke with this morning. A little bike swapping though really makes me think I could own many different bikes and enjoy them all. Volcon, keep your good eye on the doughnut and not on the hole;).

Cheers, Alex.

At least the ride had a semi spectacular ending, (we were flagged down by some campers, one of which had sliced open his hand with a machete, Volcan hit the swtich and transformed the KLR into a bloodwagon and carried the injured camper to safety!)

Thats pretty spectacular and if thats not enough, you shouldve seen Volcan head butt that bug, poor bug never stood a chance.

Apart from that it was business as usual..............hot with spells of mud.

Phoenix - maybe we should start a DS bike pool, then we all get to own and ride lots of different bikes! But then again, it would never work cos everyone would fight over who has to ride the DR650's!

The only problems I had were that passenger was a bit wobblyand the bug wasa wasp which stung my lower eye lid - hurt like the effing dickins. Should have closed my visor - I know, stupid.

:stupid:

Still swollen but I'll be fine.

Sorry for taking a while to let everyone know I made it home in one piece but it took until now to be able to open my eyes long enough to read.

Other than all that it was a good day and ride.
