Well....... the good news is that my foot and ankle are not broken!!
........the bad news is that my elbow is broken....but they did not need to do surgery and they didn't cast it....
More good news..... the orthopedic surgeon says I'll be riding again in 2 weeks.....on pavement.
I am happy to hear you are ok Bearhugger. I'm sure glad Gamby was able to double me out if the woods!

Well then, I salute you for your moxy and riding ability.

I was right behind you duringthe rocky decent and was impressed you weredoing that on what looked like street tires. Then post broken elbow I was on your six during the pavement ride back into town and respected you for getting back on the horse and now I understand why you were riding one handed most of the time.

Just discovered this forum after bear hugger pointed me away from the VI Bikers forum.

Recently bought a Suzuki DR-Z400 and i'm a complete newbie to the dual-purpose mud and gravel riding stuff, having only ever been on the tarmac so far.

Had plenty of bikes which had dual purpose aspirations (Yamaha TDR250, BMW F650 and Honda XRV750 Africa Twin) but only ever had them on thetarmac (not many logging roads in the UK!!)

This ride looked awesome and so hopefully you have more of this type of stuff planned in the future which a novice can come out and try with you.... :hf:

The photo's were great.

As an alternative or in conjuction with a ride, there is also going to be some trail building at the VMC "Tansky Main" in Jordon River Sunday. If interested, I believe we're to meet at 9am at the "Castle" by the bridge in Sooke.
