Yep, it might be the kick stand switch all right. Another thing to check is if your DR350 has a CV carb, like the 400S.
On CV carbs, the throttle is opened by a vacuum that works against a return spring, and is not directly connected to the twist grip cable. The cable opens a butterfly which provides the vacuum which opens the throttle.
Problem is the throttle is a heavy slug, and the spring/vacuum balance won't keep it in place on g-forces. And if the vacuum is leaking, this problem is made worse. A leaky diaphram at the top of the carb is the most likely culprit for a weak vacuum.
This is much easier to check that float levels, which I have no experience with.
