Sounds good, Toby. Don't forget to check this thread tomorrow morning. I'll post around 7:30 to confirm what I'm gonna do one way or the other. Like I said before if the weather is really bad I'll prolly stay home and watch football, hopefully it won't be that bad.

Hey Mathew, good to hear from ya.

Here's a ride we might think about - just a suggestion. It was posted in this thread last July, apparantly it's a wood lot near Mission. Here's some stuff I copied from the thread. There's some photos too. Lemme know whatcha think.

Silverdale gas to Wren st Mission. We took Mclean to Donatelli to Gaglardi and then Law Ave to the gate entrance around the gate was easy, good climb up a twisty paved road to multi forks. Hard packed clay and soft slick cart trails we found the platoe you said! nice lookout over silverdale/lougheed. We took all but one trail and found our way to Wren st mission( Exited across from.. 31530 Olson ave@ Foulds st. there's a large split in half log!)then Clay st to Tyler st which turns into Wren south to Lougheed (KFC)

Awesome route to mission maybe 8-9k of trails and overgrown bush. We will definatly go back for a romp...I think we found the ruts where you fell over sat..we both almost bailed a few times..tricky big ruts uphill and very slick clay with tall grass. the place is very clean and no garbage.

If anyone is lookin for a good place with trails look up this address on google maps and "Be cool entering the property! Dont wana :censored: the neighbor's"

This is a good place to drop by for a workout! It's an Abandoned Prision with no buildings just strange trails, carved MX tracks, hill climbs and some single track..Enter off 251A.. The gate is ridearoundable and you'll find access to 256th and gravel pits. At the top of 256th, Theres more! as well as Allouette rd off of 249th just at the womans prison, gates are easy to ride around.

When you're on your way to Sylvester and cruising at close to 60mph in an icy rainstorm on the Lougheed Hwy and you feel that first trickle of water enter your pants you know it's either gonna be a long day or a real short one. Today it was the latter. We made it about 10 miles past the pavement, stopped, came to our senses and decided that getting a hot coffee made more sense than proceeding any farther. It was one of those rides that was wet, cold, and miserable. Oh yeah, adding to the challenge was a faceshield that was splattered with water on the outside and fogged up inside making visibility about as poor as it could get. Not to mention about 2 inches of gray slush that covered the road and made it impossible to pick any kind of line through the rocks and potholes. Here's a pic of Toby that pretty much sums up the entire ride:

In a desperate attempt to warm up freezing hands grabbing hold of the bike engine seemed like a good idea.

While I offered up a prayer to the snow gods to send us some warm, balmy weather - dint work.

My ins. runs out this Wed and after today I dint think I'd be re-newing it for a while. However, when I got home there was an email from a street riding buddy of mine who got a day pass for his Concours for $27. So, never say never. If it warms up a day pass might be just the thing for a dual-sport ride, but if it doesn't then this will prolly be it for the season. Let's all try the power of positive thinking by concentrating on warm sunny days ahead. On second thought we better not or we'll be blamed for global warming. Global Warming???!!! after today ya gotta wonder.

I think ive got frostbite! That wasnt the best ride of the year but it was worth seeing what its like out there, now I know, cold and horrible, think its time to get the snowboard out and put the bike away, reluctantly.......this years riding has been excellent, cant wait for the spring now......

Yeah, no kidding. Yesterday was definitely not the day for highway cruising and fast FSR riding. The wind at those speeds just blows the wet cold right through you, not pleasant. OTG's got it right. We should have gone to the Law Ave pit like we talked about, we could have plonked around there as long as we wanted. Much slower speeds and a lot more physical exertion would have kept us warm, but just sitting on a bike at 30 to 50 MPH under those conditions is enough to freeze the nuts off a steel bridge.

I'll be there with the bike, but probably not riding after. I'll have my Caribou cases on which aren't fantastic for trail use.

Excited to hear what ideas people have for the motorcycle show! If you want, I could either bring the laptop or take notes the old-fashioned way.

I'll help out with setting up the booth and I'll man a shift at the show. I won't be at Bruce's on Sun morning unless it clears up and there's some riding to be done - like that's gonna happen lol.
